Ingredients & Method

Ingredients

  • Wheat flour – 1 Cup
  • Gram Flour - ½ Cup
  • Oil – 3 tbsp
  • Carom seeds – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Fenugreek (methi) leaves – 1 cup
  • Green chilli – 1 nos.
  • Chopped Ginger – 1 tsp
  • Chopped Onion – 1 Nos.
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required – ¼ cup
  • Oil for roasting

Method

  • In a mixing bowl, add wheat flour, gram flour, chopped green chillies, chopped ginger, chopped onions, carom seeds, salt, turmeric powder and oil. Add water gradually and knead soft dough. Cover and rest for 10 minutes.
  • Now pinch a medium-sized ball of dough, roll, and flatten it.
  • Also, dust with some wheat flour and roll it in a thin circle like chapati.
  • Now on a hot tawa place the rolled thepla and cook for a minute.
  • When the base is partly cooked, flip the methi thepla and brush oil and press slightly.
