Ingredients

  • Clarified butter (ghee) – 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp + 1 tsp
  • Washed moong dal – 1 cup
  • Rolled oats – 1 cup
  • Water – 2 cup
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Ginger – 1 inch
  • Onion – 1 no.
  • Green chillies – 1 no. (chopped)
  • Ginger chilli paste – 1 tsp
  • Tomato – 1 no. (chopped)
  • Boiled peas – ½ cup
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Garam masala – 1 tsp
  • Cilantro leaves – a handful

Method

  • In a pressure cooker, first heat clarified butter, after heat add cumin seeds, washed moong dal and mix it once. After that add rolled oats & again mix it. Now add water as required and mix it well.
  • Now cover and cook till two whistle on high flame. Once, release the air from pressure cooker, open it and mix it well.
  • Further, take a wok add heat oil, add cumin seeds, ginger, chopped onion and sauté it on low flame till it’s get light in color.
  • Then add green chilies, ginger chilli paste and mix it properly. Then afterwards add chopped tomato, boiled peas and add water and mix it properly. Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt to taste and mix it well.
  • Further, add cooked dal and oats mixture and mix everything properly. Then add garam masala. Add some amount of cilantro leaves and mix it well. Atlast cook for 2 minutes on low to medium flame and its ready to serve.
