SUKHDI RECIPE

Description

Sukhdi is a sweet made from the wheat flour by adding jaggery and ghee. It is a biscuit like snack which can be found in most of Gujarati households. It is healthy and easy mithai made on the auspicious days or festivals. Popularly it is known as golpapadi or gudpapadi in Rajasthan. This sweet dish doesn’t require too much time, it is ready to enjoy in less than an hour without any special preparation. Ingredients & Method

Ingredients

• Wheat flour 2cups

• Jaggery 1.5cups

• Clarified Butter (Pure Ghee) 1cup

Method

  • Take a mould and grease it well with ghee
  • Put the pan on stove to get heated and add clarified butter at medium flame
  • Once the clarified butter becomes hot add wheat flour to it
  • Cook it at low to medium flame
  • Mix it well and stir continuously to roast it properly for 10 minutes at low flame
  • The mixture will become little soft on cooking it continuously
  • Once it is roasted properly its color will change and will give soothing aroma
  • Switch off the flame and jaggery to it
  • Mix it well for 2-3 minutes and jaggery will get melted
  • Mixture for sukhdi is ready
  • Spread the mixture well in the mould
  • Now cut it into pieces with knife
  • Cut it while it is hot
  • Now let it settle for 10 minutes
  • After 10 minutes take it out from the mould and place it in serving plate
