Ingredients
- Wheat flour – 2 cup
- Fine rava – ¼ cup
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Carom seeds (ajwain) – ½ tsp
- Asafoetida - ¼ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 3 tbsp
- Fenugreek leaves – ½ cup
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Water as required
- Oil for fry
Method
- Take a bowl, add wheat flour, fine rava, cumin seeds, carom seeds, salt to taste and oil and mix it well. Then, with the help of hand mix it properly.
- Flour should have crumbly texture and hold shape between hands.
- Then add fresh fenugreek leaves in it. Now, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and mix it well with the help of hand.
- Now, the amount of water depends on the quality of whole wheat flour, so add water accordingly. Knead the dough properly.
- Cover the dough and rest it for 10 minutes, so it will set properly.
- Now, take a one dough ball, make a circle shape with the help of hands.
- Afterwards, on a rolling board, take one dough ball and spread a bit of oil on it.
- Roll puri into medium thickness. With a fork give cuts on the rolled puri. This is done so that the puri does not puff up while frying. You can also use a fork.
- Now, take an oil in a wok, fry puri on medium to low flame.
- Turn the puri another side and cook till they turn into golden brown.
- Take them out. Now sameway fry other puri.
