Malai Kofta

Ingredients

  • Clarified butter (ghee) – 1 tbsp
  • Onion sliced – 3 to 4 nos
  • Garlic cloves – 8 to 10 nos
  • Chopped tomatoes – 2 nos
  • Ginger – 1 inch
  • Green chillies – 2 to 3 nos
  • Cashew nuts – 7 to 8
  • Boiled potatoes – 4 to 5 nos
  • Paneer – 100 gram
  • Corn flour – 2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Refined flour (maida) – for coating
  • Oil for frying
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
  • Pomegranate powder – 1 tsp
  • Garam masala – 2 tsp
  • Water as required
  • Kasuri methi – 1 tsp
  • Fresh cream – for garnish

Method

  • Take a pan, add clarified butter (ghee), onion and cook the onions till they turn into golden brown.
  • Now add garlic clove and sauté for a minute.
  • Add tomatoes, ginger, green chillies, cashew nuts and cook for 2-3 minute. Cover and cook for 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Now open the lid and mix it well. Keep it aside. Grind into a fine puree and keep aside for later use.
  • Take a boiled potato and grate them. Also great the paneer. Now take them in a bowl.
  • Add corn flour in a bowl, red chilli powder, salt to taste and mix everything properly.
  • Now make medium size balls and coat with maida. Fry these balls until golden brown.
  • Turn the other side. Then remove it in absorbent paper.
  • Now take a pan, add ghee, tomato onion puree, turmeric powder, redchillii powder, pomegranate powder, garam masala and cook well for 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Then add water as required, salt to taste and mix it properly.
  • Add kasuri methi for good taste. Stir and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Now add kofta ball in a serving bowl. Pour gravy on it.
  • Lastly garnish with fresh cream and it’s ready to serve.
