It is very easy to make Gujarati dish. This sabji is very good for winters as raw turmeric provides heat to the body. Raw turmeric is full of antioxidant and has anti-inflammatory properties. Ingredients & Method

Ingredients

  • Fresh turmeric – 250 gm
  • Tomatoes – 3 nos
  • Ginger garlic chilli paste – 1 tbsp
  • Onion (chopped) – ½ cup
  • Green peas – ½ cup
  • Curd – ¾ cup
  • Red chilli powder – 2 tsp
  • Cumin coriander powder – 2 tsp
  • Claified butter (ghee) – ½ cup
  • Garam masala – ½ tsp to 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Method

  • Firstly, take a fresh turmeric peel off and grate them. Now take a heavy bottom pan and add clarified butter (ghee). Then ad grated turmeric and sauté it nicely and cook on medium flame.
  • After 10 minutes add ginger garlic chilli paste and mix it. Further add onion and sauté it for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Then add fresh green pea and cook for 5 minutes on low flame and mix it well. Turn off flame and keep it aside.
  • Now, take another pan add clarified butter (ghee), tomatoes and sauté for 3-4 minutes or till soften. Once tomato turn soft add red chilli powder, cumin powder and garam masala. Sauté for a minute. If needed add clarified butter which is left.
  • Further add turmeric mixture and cook for 3-4 minutes on medium heat to low heat or till ghee separate.
  • Now, add whisk curd and mix in one direction. Cook 2-3 minutes more. Then add salt as per taste and cook till ghee separate. Lastly garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.
  • Turn off the flame and it’s ready to serve.
