Ingredients & Method

Ingredients

  • Grated bitter gourd (unpeeled) – ½ cup
  • Salt – ½ tsp + salt to taste
  • Water – for wash + 2 tbsp
  • Grated carrot – ¾ cup
  • Crumble low-fat paneer (grated) – 1 tbsp
  • Ginger paste – 1 tbsp
  • Dried mango powder – 1 tbsp
  • Cilantro leaves (chopped) – 2 tbsp
  • Bread crumbs – 1 cup
  • Green chilli paste – 2 tsp
  • Oil for greasing & cooking – 2 ¼ tsp

Method

  • Apply a little salt to the bitter gourd, mix well and keep aside 2 to 3 minutes. Squeeze and keep the water aside. This water can be used as given in the handy tip.
  • Take a grated unpeeled bitter gourd in a bowl, then add salt and water for wash. Wash it once and squeeze them nicely in a bowl.
  • Now, take squeeze bitter gourd in a bowl, grated carrot, grated low fat paneer, ginger paste, dried mango powder, cilantro leaves, bread crumbs, salt to taste and mix it well.
  • Further add water and mix everything properly. Now make flat round tikkis one by one & put it in a plate.
  • Grease the pan with oil & put tikkis. Apply oil on tikkis & turn the other side to fry. Shallow fry until they start to brown on both the sides. Take them out in a plate.
  • Serve them hot with tomato ketchup.
