Gond Halwa

Description

Ingredients & Method

Ingredients

  • Edible gund (gundar)– 50 gm
  • Clarified butter (ghee) – 50 gm
  • Rock candy (khadi sakar) – 100 gm
  • Full fat milk – 500 ml
  • Dry coconut – 100 gm
  • Cashew – 50 gm
  • Almond – 50 gm
  • Watermelon seeds – 25 gm
  • Dried ginger powder – 1 tbsp
  • Ganthola powder – 1 tbsp
  • Poppy seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
  • Nutmeg powder – ½ tsp

Method

  • Firstly, take a grinding jar add edible gum (gond) and grind into fine powder. Now take rock candy (khadi sakar) and same way grind them.
  • Again take a grinding jar add almonds, cashew and watermelon seeds and grind them into coarse mixture.
  • Further, take a bowl add crushed gond and clarified butter (ghee) & mix it well. Cover it and rest it for half an hour.
  • Take a heavy bottom pan, add dry coconut and roast it for 2-3 minutes. Keep it aside.
  • Add ghee and gond mixture into pan, cook mixture till gund is completely puffed up.
  • Add milk and stir continuously. Milk starts to curdle.
  • Stir continuously till water is completely absorbed and the mixture starts to thicken.
  • Add sugar powder and mix well properly.
  • Now add dry ginger powder, ganthola powder, cardamom powder, and nutmeg powder. Mix everything properly.
  • Then add roasted coconut, dry fruit powder, and poppy seeds. Mix well.
  • Now add roasted coconut and mix it well. Add ghee 1 tbsp and mix it properly.
  • Stir continuously on medium flame till the mixture completely dries up and leaves the sides of the pan.
  • Serve or store Gond Halwa in an air-tight container.
