Tawa Pulao

Description

Tawa Pulao is best one pot meal of Indian street food, but over this it is one of the most favorite among Mumbai street foods and so it is even known by the name of Mumbai style tawa pulao. Tawa pulao is a quick rice recipe with veggies, butter and Indian spices to jazz it up instantly. Mumbai road side vegetable pulao is made on a big tawa and it looks so tempting that just a look is enough to crave for it. Ingredients & Method

Ingredients

  • Butter 1 cube
  • Oil 1 tbsp.
  • Grated garlic 1 tbsp.
  • Fine chopped chilli 1 tbsp.
  • Grated ginger 1tbsp.
  • Fine chopped onion 1/2 cup
  • Fine chopped green bell pepper 1/2 cup
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp.
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp.
  • Salt as per taste
  • Everest Pav bhaji masala 1 tsp.
  • Boiled potatoes 1/2 cup
  • Tomatoes 1 cup
  • Chopped cilantro for garnish
  • Peas 1 cup
  • Rice 2 cups (add 5 cups water and salt to taste)

Method

  • Boil rice for around 20 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add butter.
  • Add grated ginger, garlic, chilli and onion and sauté on high flame.
  • Add green bell pepper and sauté again.
  • Add red chilli powder and salt. Mix it well
  • Add turmeric powder and add tomatoes then mix it well.
  • Cover it and cook for few minutes till tomatoes are done.
  • Add potatoes and half cooked vegetables and cook for few minutes.
  • Add pav bhaji masala, rice and mix well.
  • Finally garnish with chopped cilantro and mix it well.
