Ingredients & Method

Ingredients

  • Water for boil – 2 cup
  • Gooseberry (Amla) – 9 – 10 no
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Black sesame seeds – ½ tsp
  • Asafoetida – ¼ tsp
  • Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder – 2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  • Garam masala – ½ tsp
  • Black pepper powder – ½ tsp
  • Black salt – ½ tsp
  • Jaggery – 200 gm
  • Grated ginger – ½ tsp

Method

  • Take a heavy deep pan add water for boiling. Further add gooseberry (amla) then cover and boil for 10 minutes. Open it and keep it aside. Now take boil amlas in a plate, split & break the amlas.
  • Now take a pan, add oil, black sesame seeds, asafoetida, fennel seeds, cumin powder and then roast all spices on medium flame.
  • Then, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, black pepper powder and mix it well. Further add cooked amlas and mix it properly.
  • Now add, black salt and again. Then add jaggery and mix it well. Lower the flame & cook till jaggery melts properly. Further add grated ginger and mix everything properly. Cook on medium flame.
