Rajma Masala
Description
Rajma recipe also known as rajma masala is a North Indian dish made with kidney beans, onion, tomatoes, spices and herbs. This delicious dish is easy enough to make for a healthy and hearty meal. Serve it over chawal (rice) or with roti. In Indian cuisine, a lot of legumes are eaten regularly as they are the main source of protein & fiber. Ingredients
- Oil – 2 to 3 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Cloves – 2 to 3
- Peppercorns – 7 to 8
- Big cardamom – 1
- Bay leaf – 2
- Onion (finely chopped) – 1
- Salt to taste
- Tamoto puree – 3
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Coriander powder – 2 tsp
- Cumin powder – 1 tsp
- Red chili powder – ½ tsp
- Kidney beans (Rajma) – 1 cup
- Water – 4 cups
- Fenugreek leaves – 1 tsp
- Cilantro for garnish
- Green chilies – 2 to 3
- Garam masala – ½ tsp
Method
- Firstly keep Nutri-Pot on saute mode, then add oil, cinemon, bay leaf, green chilies, ginger garlic paste, and saute it for 2 minutes.
- After that, add onion and saute it for 2 minute, then add salt as per taste and mix it well.
- Now, add tomato puree and mix it well. Add cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, pinch of asafoetida, rajma masala, and mix it well.
- Add pre soaked rajma (kidney beans) and mix it well. Then add water as required, and salt as per taste.
- Now, cancel the saute mode, and turn on the Rajma mode.
- Cover the lid turn the valve on sealing and let it cook till 35 minutes.
- Release the steam before open the lid, now rajma is almost ready.
- Add fenugreek leaves (kasoori methi) and add cilantro leaves for garnish and mix it well.
