Ingredients

  • Maida – 2 cups
  • Clarified butter (ghee) – 2 tbsp
  • Mava – 200gm
  • Sugar – 200gm
  • Raisin
  • Cashew
  • Almonds
  • Pistachios
  • Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
  • Oil – for fry
  • Water

Method

  • Take maida in a bowl, add clarified butter into it and now mix it properly. You can see here, we get a proper texture of dough.
  • Add water and make a semi thick dough of gujiya. Dough is ready. Cover and rest it for 10-15 minutes.
  • Take mava and grate them with grater, so the mava will merge nicely. Now take a pan, and heat up the clarified butter, then add raisins, cashew, almond, pistachio and roast dry fruits on low to medium flame.
  • After 2-3 minutes, add mava and roast it for 5-6 minutes on low to medium flame. Stir it continues. After that add cardamom powder and mix it again.
  • Now on this stage, add sugar and mix well. Let the mixture cool down.
  • Take one dough ball and now roll it with rolling pin. Roti should not be too thick and too thin, prepared medium size roti.
  • Further, make a mark on roti, make sure you cannot cut them. Now make a strips mark on the downward side.
  • Flip the other side and same way mark on it. Make sure don’t cut the strips, put marks only.
  • Now on the other plain side of mark, put stuffing on it and lightly spread it. Apply maida slurry on the top of stuffing. Roll it gently and shape it like this.
  • Apply little amount of slurry on the edges of gujiya and seal it. With the help of fingers, make leaf shape like this. Here all gujiya’s is ready for fry. For fry the gujiya’s firstly, heat up the oil in a pan, fry gujiya’s on low to medium till its gets light golden in colour.
  • Here I already prepared a chasni. Now, deep it into a chasni directly and take them out.
  • Lastly, sprinkle some pistachio and rose petals and our delicious and tasty mava gujiya is ready for serve.
